THE BAND WHO KNEW TOO MUCH

The Band Who Knew Too Much are a bona-fide fool-proof floor packing band. Australian songs propelled by energetic jazz-like woodchop rhythm add some strong local lyric with gang vocal delivery and their unique sound is complete. For over a decade they have branded their sound around the world, a highly energetic act that is at home singing on the festival stage, busking unplugged on the city streets, or anything in between!
Washboard/Accordion driven anthems about spending the rent, hard rubbish nights and of course, the immortal BEER O'CLOCK!! It's happy hour, energetic drinking music for everyone.

Strong melodies, powerful storytelling that is musically emotive and exciting have become synonymous with the name Monique Brumby. Having already won 2 ARIA Awards for Best New Talent in 1996 and Best Female Artist in 1997 along with a nomination for Song Of The Year in 1998, Brumby is now forging her way as an independent artist and producer, as well as building on her reputation as one of Australias premier performers and songwriters. Following on from the critically acclaimed albums Thylacine and Signal Hill, Monique Brumby is now set to release her third studio album Into The Blue. Together with co-producer Doug Roberts (Deborah Conway, Chris Wilson, The Badloves) Brumby has delivered a musical feast of songs exploring themes of friendship, hope, love and loss in a manner that will leave the listener yearning for more. The album has been mastered by Leon Zervos at Sterling Sound, NYC, and with guest performances by Paul Kelly, Michael Spiby and Kerri Simpson to name a few, Into The Blue is set to be one of the most eagerly anticipated releases of 2006. Monique has toured extensively throughout Australia during her 3 album career headlining her own shows in addition to sharing the stage with acclaimed international artists such as the Bangles, Shawn Colvin, Jewell, Luka Bloom and the late Jeff Buckley. Brumby has the unique ability to tap into the human consciousness through her writing. Stylistically, Brumby crosses various genres in her music. Not content to be musically pigeonholed, her songs encompass elements of rock, pop, blues and soul. They are lyrically honest, entertaining, emotive and thought provoking. As her strong live following will attest, Brumby is a powerful and charismatic performer. Whether she is performing before thousands with her band or in an intimate acoustic setting, Brumby will always make it her mission to make a connection with her audience.
THE CONCH

"It feels so good to dance and think at the same time!" - a happy Conch fan.
G'day we're The Conch! We're a 10 piece orchestra playing a dynamic mix of Ska, Reggae, Latin, funk, hip-hop, swing and more. We'll get you off your seat, onto the dance floor and into the street! In the same spirit as progressive artists such as Spearhead, Asian Dub Foundation, Manu Chao, Ozomatli and Rage against the Machine, The Conch plays music for change! The Conch is short for Conciousness. Don't just get angry, get funky! It's not our revolution if we can't dance to it!
ROSIE BURGESS
http://www.myspace.com/rosiesmusic As a young kid Rosie started writing poetry on scrap pieces of paper and then began to paste them into a book as the papers piled up. Nowadays she has a bookshelf full of these poems which she weaves into songs, providing intimate insights for her listeners into her unique view of the world.
Playing straight from the heart, Rosie keeps herself warm with her skillful rootsy guitar, harmonica and mandolin playing, singing up a storm everytime she takes the stage. Her music flows out - at times edgy and intense, at times raw and beautiful, it is always original and gripping.
"When you have heard rosie perform, you're sure to be tongue-tied trying to tell people how good she is..." says Dave Ritter, organiser of the Bruthen Festival of Blues and Arts.
The last year has been pretty exciting for Rosie, with gigs and festival appearances all over Australia. Her music has been enjoying radio play on both community radio stations all over the country and Triple J. This year alone has seen Rosie play along side some of Australia's finest musicians at our best festivals, including Ash Grunwald, Mia Dyson, Deborah Conway, Chris Wilson and Blue King Brown.
Rosie's quirky and original tunes are captivating audiences wherever she goes. Her high energy live shows and many live-to-air radio performances have secured her a growing fan base of acoustic roots and folk lovers around the globe.
May 2007 has seen the release of Burgess's newest album - Humble Pie - out through MGM, published by Fogsongs. With programs such as Triple J's Roots n All and Home n Hosed already showing great support for the album, it looks set to be another exciting year for Burgess.
Catch her solo, with her stomp box, or in full band mode in a town near you soon!
JED ROWE

It is not an exaggeration to say that Jed Rowe has a rare talent for songwriting. As Melbourne's Beat Magazine put it, "Rowe's ability to get you singing along to nearly every song is a testament to his songwriting." Tackling a diverse range of styles from folk, blues, reggae, world music and rock, with occasional hints of exploratory jazz in the vocal delivery, his songs have a diversity that reaches beyond the easy genre categorisation of "roots music" - it is simply interesting music, using strong melodies and rhythms to tell good stories with wit, heart and soul. The instrumentation is acoustic - acoustic guitar and lap steel, wooden stompbox and foot percussion interwoven with Rowe's classical and jazz trained voice. He is joined sometimes by two of Melbourne's most talented young session musicians, Michael Arvanitakis on double bass and backing vocals, and Peter Wilkins (Blue King Brown) on drum kit. A relative newcomer to the national touring circuit, Jed has put in a great deal of hard work in 2006/07, touring Tasmania, Victoria, SA and NSW in support of his debut EP "Life" - no small achievement for a 100% self managed and funded artist. Without the support of any of the national radio broadcasters, Rowe has been finding a supportive audience through community radio stations around the country (including Edge FM - Tas, 3RRR, 3PBS, 3MDR -Vic, BAY FM, NIM FM - NSW, Radio Adelaide - SA), through utilizing the internet (fan based sites such as MySpace and Soulshine.com), and most significantly doing it the old fashioned way - with quality live performances. Jed has played, either solo or with his three piece band, at venues including The Empress, Manchester Lane, The Cornish Arms, The Wesley Anne (Vic), The Republic Bar (Tas), The Gov, The Wheatsheaf (SA), The Pacific Hotel (NSW) and supported some of the country's best known young artists including Clare Bowditch, Ash Grunwald, and Dallas Frasca. With an artistry not defined by any gimmicks or fads, Jed Rowe may not be the number one candidate for the music industry's "next big thing." He is rather a talented young songwriter/musician likely to produce a significant body of work over the course of his career. As one reviewer put it, "Rowe has all the tools to create some fine music" (Melbourne's The Box), and that makes him an artist well worth watching.
NEW RELEASE! - ATOMIC FOOTPRINTS

Climate of Hope is a 30 minute documentary created to demystify climate change and nuclear energy. While the threat of climate change is now widely accepted in the community, the potential for nuclear power stations in Australia has raised questions about the best strategy for our country to move to a low-carbon economy.
This animated documentary takes viewers on a tour through the science of climate change, the nuclear fuel chain, and the remarkable energy revolution that is under way.
